High-Altitude Medical Support, Everest

Challenge

The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) Everest Expedition required additional clinical capability to support its team in one of the world's most remote and demanding high-altitude environments, where altitude illness, infectious disease, cold injury and medical emergencies could occur with limited evacuation options.

Solution

Iqarus deployed an experienced expedition paramedic to work alongside the expedition Clinical Lead, providing round-the-clock medical support and evacuation readiness, supported by portable MedTech for remote monitoring, ECG and emergency defibrillation.

Impact

The additional capability extended medical support across climbers, Sherpas, porters and support personnel, while strengthening the expedition's ability to assess, monitor and manage medical issues throughout the high-altitude phases of the climb.
