Challenge
Following identification of a Hantavirus-positive patient, the Government of Tristan da Cunha required additional specialist medical capability to support healthcare delivery in one of the world's most remote inhabited islands.
Solution
Iqarus deployed a UK Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Transfer Consultant within 24 hours as part of the UK Government response, mobilising the clinician via RAF strategic airlift and Royal Navy maritime assets.
Impact
The deployment strengthened the island's clinical capability with specialist emergency and critical care expertise, supporting the delivery of UK NHS-level care during a period of increased pressure on local healthcare resources.
